I do not wear my heart on sleeve
I keep it locked up with a key
But if you ask so tenderly
I may unlock it just for thee

And if you say you’ll treat it kind
I’ll let you borrow it sometimes
You’ll have to lead the way you’ll find
Since this heart has long been blind

But if you show this heart the light
Teach it to see, I think it might
Just open up, regain its sight
Open my heart? hmmm, is that wise?

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Tracey, I think it opens anyway, if it is wise or not.
Liking this..

For the right one, it will open willingly and wholly.  Nice work.

Very nicely penned Tracey.  Perhaps it is not a good idea for us to always wear our heart upon our sleeve.  Enjoyed, Nancy.

Be careful what you wear on your sleeves. HMM. Opening your heart can be scary, but rewarding. Sandra is right though, it's going to open anyway when the right man enters within your heartzone.

Borrow? hmmm ... sounds like a contract of terms written there somewhere. I agree its best not on the sleeve but under lock and key has its draws as well. I have seen signs of your heart here and there, let it breath and flow but close to home where pain does not grow. Personally speaking, it helps.

Sandra, you're absolutely right. If it wants to open, the damn thing will anyway, even when we try to throw away the key.  lol

Wolf, I'm sure it will. Thanks

Enchantress, thank you. Though sometimes I envy those who do wear it on the sleeve to a certain extent.

Kacy, so true, so true.

CT-I've never figured out the terms of this heart, it keeps changing the contract on me!!! LOL

Not wise, maybe...but what else are you going to do through those long winter nights?  Oh yeah, the pub, I forgot.  lol  Good one, Tracey.  It's a question I have asked myself.

Tracey,
I hate to disagree with Duncan. But it's the best wisdom I can offer. Open that gorgeous heart!

Duncan, hey, the pub is a good hideaway for heartless folks! LOL.

Larry, this heart has a mind of it’s own, so no doubt if it wants to open, I won’t have any say in the matter.LOL

Hmmm I don't want to echo what everyone else has already said. I will though say that you have a friend in me whenever you need some girl talk : )
You have a heart of GOLD and you are going to make one man very happy! Remember that!

You must have a very big vault in order to lock that precious wonder up!  Fort Knox maybe? I say any man that can heft that baby up and carry it as your sweetheart...may deserve a cookie!   or chocolate flavored kisses?

Sincerely,
Regina

The light can be a scary place at times...though I'd hate to miss the adventure! A pleasure to read!

Regina, yes it hides in a very big vault, and you're absolutely right. The knight who can unlock this baby sure does deserve chocolate kisses!!

WR,I'm with you, I'd hate to miss the adventure. And I'll admit, this heart has had some pretty swell adventures. No doubt there will be more to come too, with the brave who manage to find the key!!!

Tracey; The heart is a strange and self willed thing.  With the right individiual it seems to have a mind of its own.  Don't lose that key. (Smiles) Wanda
