I close my eyes
and
they’re still there

those bluesky memories

the
bluesky memories
of a love
that should have been
of a love
that never was

of a sun
that shone brightly
in my night
for all too brief
a moment
before being obscured
by the clouds
of my life

the rain is back now
and the clouds
are here to stay

but
I’ll always have
those bluesky memories
of our days of love

Hello Sven,

Some might say that to love for a short time, is better
than to not love at all.
Some times I wonder.

Fine job expressing these memories, as painful as they might be.

*sigh* too bad I understand this one, my friend!   Beautifully done, though.

John,

I understand this one all to well......but you will find someone again.  I never thought I would ever find anyone again but as they say......When you're not looking for love, it sneaks up on you.  (or something like that)     Just don't ever forget those good memories.

Take Care,
~Laura~

We all have similar memories Sven, it's sad but that seems to be the way of it. Poetic memories are even more better than normal ones!!!  Enjoyed this one.....

(big hugggsssssss) Oh John, my heart both cries to the sorrow of lost love in this poem of sweet sorrow, but also smiled to see the hope and the love you feel that your beautiful heart is destined to live so many more of these gorgeous blue sky days! (smiles) Your golden heart will love again, dearest friend, and I can't wait to see what you write when you do! (big hugggssssss) You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sven, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

You write the feeling so well. When the person is no longer there to hold in our sights, at least we still have the memory to hold.

Oh yes, it is so much like this, isn't it? I just want the memories to be the present, why is that too much to ask?
Lovely, heartfelt poem, my friend.

This aches with familiarity, Sven... though there are times when I wish those memories would yield to forgetting. *S* Beautiful write!!!

Amazing how sustaining memories can be for us.  Of course the GR8 Voice of the Northlands has put it so well.

Well done my friend

'Blue Sky Memories' outshine 'Broken Heart Blues' ... although both carry the saddest of songs

Very nice Sven

I'm glad I didn't miss this one....sliding in a little late...but this is heavenly. A really warm piece with so much to say. I hope you will always have your blue skies.

Sincerely,
Regina
