                             The Letter – The Lady & The Maid – Part 11

                             Time passed, as time does, when waiting
                             eyes paired, scanning horizon’s gleam
                             one waiting with thoughts of her mistress
                             the other, for the love now come dream

                             two loves of her life were somewhere
                             two men who had briefly met
                             both tugged at the women’s heartstrings
                             both prayed for their safety yet

                             “Lady, what if,” said the Maid, starting,
                             “Nay, say it not ever be so,
                             do not speak of words imparting
                             for my faith will not let me know

                             that two loves of mine be gone forever
                             for I hold right here in my hand
                             and my faith be such as these letters
                             they shall both come back to this land!”

                             The Maid knew not to chide her
                             for the Lady said it should be so
                             as two pair of eyes scanned far the horizons
                             in hopes of tomorrow’s new glow…

Are beggars choosers? If so, this little beggar would love to read a happy ending, but then, not all stories come with happy endings do they? Thank you for this, now I can read 4 parts at once to loud cheers for The Lady In White!
