Hotrod Child By Larry Chadwick I knew she was born a hotrod, Set for speed, just like her dad. We didn’t even try to fight it, Simply didn’t think it was bad. At three it was just Toots and me, Cruisin’ right on down the road. The little Mustang hammer down, Feelin’ the engine pullin’ the load. She was standing in the back seat, Letting the wind blow in her face. Her little arms across the seat back, It felt like we were in a big race. Acceleration would spin those tires, And each time she’d let out a sqeel. “Faster Daddy” she would say, One more time I’d make ‘em peel. In Honor of my daugher, who survived! |

Lucky for both of you. Great that you let her feel this kind of rush! |

Cute, cute. As one who loves speed and the open road (and has the tickets to prove it), I love this piece of reminiscing. If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please? |

Midnitesun, See. I knew I was gonna get this heat. It was 1977. Like, lighten up dude. ROTFLMAO Yeah I do it different now. But I was a baby too. But, man, do I have a blast! ![]() Thank you Duncan. Did I thank you? Cause I'm feelin' the need for some support here! LOL [This message has been edited by Larry C (edited 10-20-2001).] |

Tracey, Speed, open road and now I have an open top. All I need is a three year old or my daughter to share it with. For shame...tickets, what ever are you talking about? LOL ![]() |

mmmmmm oh yes, I love this poem. I too love the open road and the feel of wind in my hair. Lucky little lady your daughter was to have such fun with her daddy. A very enjoyable read. I find myself really liking the way you write and the stories you weave. ![]() Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams. |
