Nine Thousand Hugs for Balladeer

Nine thousand times, I thank you 'Deer,
For being who you are;
A man whose special gift is shared,
With all, both near and far.

You've touched our hearts with ballads true,
Through stories that you weave;
A master in the truest sense,
Of truth, and make-believe.

Your vast imagination seems
To shine so many ways …
A poignant piece, or light and fun,
I always am amazed.

You captivate your audience,
With stories that inspire,
Through narratives and anecdotes,
You set our minds afire.

You pen our hearts, you pen our lives,
Bring characters to life,
And through your words, we feel their warmth,
It's always sheer delight.

I've grown myself, in reading you,
And truly I feel blessed,
For all you are … for all you do …
Sweet poet … you're the best.

So thank you 'Deer, for being "you",
For all that you have penned,
Allowing me to know you as …
A writer … poet … friend …

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit

Nine thousand cans of Spam wont do ...
tis not enough to say how much we adore you
Nine thousand Vienna Sausages wont even be a start
to tell you how your rhymes touch our heart
Nine thousand days off work to golf the green
still wont tell you all that you mean.
Still ... I'll send these gifts your way
hoping that it makes your day ...
Congrats on your milestone our dearest Deer
never doubt we need YOU and your rhymes around here.

*spammy smooches*

AND some Spammy smacks to Kit-girlie for this groovy gator poem!!
love ya both

Eight years later or so, I find this poem and want to make those 9001 hugs for Balladeer.  I hope that you are feeling better - and I add my thanks to this poem.  You have inspired me in so many ways.

Kit, this is a truly wonderful poem.

Thank you both.

Golly, I missed this the first time around, so I'm delighted it appeared again.

"Deer," your book is on the nightstand in our guest room.  So our guests have had the pleasure of reading your work before falling asleep, too.

May you bask in hugs and blessings throughout your health problems.

God bless,
Rae
