Sigh.....looking over the landscape, in search of a lost love.
Seeing all the faces smiling, the couples sharing laughter.
Asking that I might again find love, might feel love.
Sitting upon a bench, head bowed, a tear falling from an eye.

A shadow approached me, covering the brightness from above.
I ignored it, hoping that the person would go away, just leave.
But, I could not help but notice the fragrance that I sensed.
The fragrance reminded of a love I had left behind, had lost.

Memories of a face, smiling endlessly through the brightest eyes.
Cheekbones so high, accenting a smile that said friendship.
Eyes looking into the soul of a woman with the purest heart.
A voice ever knowing of my needs, never wavering, always kind.

Memories of so many moments, the laughter, the giggling.
The times on a lawn chasing, running, breathless kisses.
Hair flowing endlessly into the air, teasing my face.
Lips of the most pure taste, accented in a reddish hue.

I remember her walk, the look that she first gave me.
It said to me......Caution, lady onboard, do not tread on.
I always respected this lady, for she was a true belle.
I think of a bell, a bell of mourning, of loss.

I lost her long ago, she left one day, parts unknown.
Heard many times she was here, there or somewhere.
Tried to find an address from a friend, return to sender.
Searched for years, nothing, but I did not give up.

I decided that since the shadow would not leave, I might look.
I didn’t find her, she is here, standing over me.  Smiling eyes.

I am so glad you found your lost love and that she can put a smile on your face and in your heart. Beautiful writing, as always.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Lost love, found love, love never lost. You cover a lot of emotional territory in this one, but leave us with a feeling of hope. Thanks. And this is really nice imagery:

Hair flowing endlessly into the air, teasing my face.
Lips of the most pure taste, accented in a reddish hue"

I'm searching for the words to say...this touched me. I lost a love when I went to parts unknown. I tried to find him again, but he had moved, so this really hits a spot. Beautifully written
