A Smile

I tried today, like yesterday,
broke into my morning smile.
Eventually the day took hold
lost again I, for awhile.

I staid myself, covered in warmth
to forget the silence I heard.
I tried today, like yesterday
but am lost without a word.

The winds are blowing out of the west,
leaves dancing, here and there.
The window needs washing from leaning upon
and I don't really care.

I dressed myself by afternoon
but only to return to bed.
I tried today, like yesterday
but no words have my lips said.

Loneliness, can grab when least
expected, missing you.
I'm trying again, it is evening now,
still wondering what to do.

I think awhile upon the leaves,
remembering my childhood joys.
Piling them up and jumping into,
with neighborhood girls and boys.

It almost seems like yesterday,
the memory does grow short.
My days are long without a word,
just emptiness to report.

My phone, it sits sometimes for days
and doesn't ring at all.
My mind keeps hearing things that aren't,
waiting for a call.

I'm leaning again on window, nosed,
the leaves beginning to pile.
Today I wish like yesterday,
to wear my childhood smile.

I would ring your phone Maureen...smile for me today and I will smile for you. I'm sorry I have been so absent from icq...but you described so well here how I have been, that I don't think I need to explain. But hugs to you, and need to talk to you about a certain candlestick purchase (i think the wedding is "on" again, lol) Loved your poem and mis you.

Ahh, then girl, pile up those leaves and jump into them, and smile at being alive with those memories. Heck, I will even rake them deep, like I did for my own girls..very gentle smile

But your pic show such a pretty smile! This is a lovely piece of poetry. Chris

My heart goes out to you. I know just what it is like to wait in silence and try to keep the smile in place. Even though your words are sad the beauty of them and the heart you share with me always puts a smile on my face. ***BIG HUGS***

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

The ache of loneliness seems more real in autumn, life is falling.  When you feel overwhelmed, come to these pages and know that your words are very much read and more importantly than that, very much needed during this, and any other time of year.
God bless you.

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Wynter, I know just how you feel; I turn 18 on the 28th of this month, and I feel sad too that my birthday is coming up because I was depressed all throughout my childhood because I was all lonely and sad. (big hugggssssss) When I look at autumn I too admire the beauty, but I also feel sad to see life falling. (big hugggssssss) My heart is always with you, sweet Wynter, always follow your dreams and your beautiful heart and that child inside of you will smile forever on! (big hugggssssss) We all love you so much, sweet friend! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Wynter, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
