The screams I heard on Halloween
Made me a nervous wreck.
The shreiks came out so eerily
The hair stood on my neck.

For two years straight I've heard that sound
That stood my hair on end.
And, when I walked home late tonight
I heard it once again.

Real scared, I stopped and looked around
There's nothing I could see.
A cold chill then ran up my spine
There's something touching me.

I froze there for a moment, then
I quickly spun around.
My knees were shaking terribly
My voice would make no sound.

I felt a cold and clammy hand
Brush up against my face.
But when I looked into the eyes
There was a vacant space.

Two gaping holes where eyes once were
My blood froze in my veins.
That's when I got a real good look
At what's called Long John's brains.

There was this green slime oozing out
And dripping through his eyes.
Those eerie shreiks I heard that night
Were Long John's pitiful cries.

Oh my, this poem made me jump too; I could almost see what you and all the children that screamed saw. (sigh) Such a fun haunting Halloween this must have been! (big hugggssssss) BRAVO!!! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet dove, thank you for sharing!

Now be careful where you go on Halloween....you never know what could happen.

Oh, my goodness, Dovie... you've given me the shivers! *G* That kitty kicking sailor is scary enough at best of times... but I didn't know he had brains??? *puzzled look*
