Listening to every heart

0 posted 2001-10-17 04:31 PM

His Book

many leaves have fallen
to bring about
this book of life, many
leaves have rustled
some crushed through
ugly strife, many
leaves have wandered
along a brooking water’s ebb
many leaves have
been held fast
by a silken spider’s web

still he takes each leaf
of year, of month, of
daily drudge
binds them oh so
mightily so no year
is without budge

surrounded in his
book of leaves,
he’s left no stone
unturned,
he left behind his grieving,
left no bridges burned
he left behind his long ago,
no grudge will he long bear
wrapped tight in his
thought, just so,
as all was done with care

though he dwelt in love
once lost, though not
sought, a second one
was found
he’s covered many a hard
won mile
of uneven, blood drenched
ground

so don’t wonder if you find
his book of leaves
he left behind
and should you find the
pages tattered
no not that it would
matter, but
he wrote of you, and you
and you
for in his heart,
you’re captured,
and to the winds,
you’re scattered.

(big hugggssssss) The leaves will scatter, but His promises flutter amidst them, and as all the leaves scatter together on top of each other, He bookmarks all our hearts. (sigh) Wonderful poem Sunshine, you always write your thoughts so wonderfully! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet sunshine, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

This is very beautiful Karilea ... I'm pulled in several directions as to whom 'He' may be, but that adds to the flavor and overall quality

I really like this

Yes, he did write of me, and you, and everyone!  Oh Karilea, this one speaks volumes to me.  Now you know I am taking this one on Thursday right? This was so warming as is his book.
