Today I packed the remnants of the life
I’ve come to know
I sifted through the rubble of the past...
Then sorted out the treasures that I saved,
so long ago
When I still thought that we would always last...

I sat inside a circle of old memories,
scattered ‘round
The ghosts of hopes and dreams that we once knew...
I closed my eyes to meditate,
and suddenly I found
Reality once hidden, now full view...

The curtain pulled, I saw us for the people,
that we are
And how we both had taken seperate paths...
Although we struggled, effort hadn’t brought us
very far...
And what we had, was never meant to last...

So, here we are, the day before
I spread my wings and fly
My heart has found a home, it’s waiting there...
With nothing left here for me,
and with no tears left to cry
My last reflection vanished into air...

The road goes on forever, and the stories never end...

Oh, sunnyone, I do like this. It has an air of acceptance, and knowing when it's time to move forward. Cheers.

yes, it has an air of saddness, but also of hope and new beginnings?

A poem, correct? Just a poem?  Well done, Sunnyone...

I hope you are not experiencing this right
now...you have painted a picture too often
developed.  So many lives broken apart from
a lack of a common bond.   Thanx for a
beautiful and reflective poem.  I liked this
even though it is very sobering.

Sunny
I really love these words.  They say so much of what is really felt.  Very nicely done.  I shall keep this one!

Reality - what a sobering thought!  But I know that you will be very happy with your beginnings.

~~~ To all of my friends here ~~~
First of all, thank you each and every one for the responses to this poem!  And I will say that it is not just a poem, but a piece of my own reality.  There comes a time in one's life, when changes are inevitable, and I am at that crossroads.  The past has completed it's cycle, and a new door has opened.  I have been blessed with a very special new love, and it will reflect in my work, of that I am sure.  So, once again, thank you so much for all of your support, and best wishes, and I will be thinking of you all as I fly across the sky into my new life!!
Will see you soon here at our family table!
~~~ Sunny ~~~

The road goes on forever, and the stories never end...
