In the still of the moment, I lie awake.
Feeling some of the loneliness of a love not here.
Wishing we were together as one.
Laughing, playing, running, smiling, teasing.
Touching in a teasing way only lover’s know.

I miss your touch, your tenderness eludes me.
I miss your laughter ringing in my ears.
I miss those moments that only we have shared.
I cry sadly, salted  falling tears.

Your absence scars my soul with pining pain.
My voice, hoarse from silent screams escapes me.
I can only tell you in my mind I love you, I care.
Your presence strong in my heart,   I love you so.

When I first met you, you entranced me with your wisdom.
You knew my every thought, my next move, emotion.
I speak, you say I know, how can you?
I think, you answer before my mouth has said.
I hurt, you console me before I have felt the pain.
I need you now,   will you please come in,
come in from my dreams.

So many wonderful lines in this beautiful piece. Tenderness and longing flow with such grace.
