Between the Lines

Communicating

You uniform yourself each time
and rarely do I see
the you behind those shaded eyes,
in thoughts not laden free.
Sometimes I wish to dress you up
in fantasy to be
the you I know that hides inside,
in want of being free.

I sketch the next time, each before
outlined from head to toe.
Perhaps I've painted you too plain
when drafting what I know.
Each mapped out thought in mind portrayed,
each diagram roughed out
can never match the deepness of
the moments brought about.

I plot each ticking of the clock
and graph you in minds chart.
Conspiring, yes, I shall admit
to parcel you in heart.
If you should read these words I field
and feel a burn intense,
perhaps you'll join me in the next
impassioned visual sense.

I'm teasing with a word or two
but in my present state,
I mean whatever's in between
the lines combined this date.
I wonder if you really know
intent and purpose of
the feelings felt and words withheld
communicating love.

Beautiful cadence and rhyme Maureen, the flow in this is just splendid, much enjoyed!
