She weaves her nest tighter than I can weave this tale. With her needle-like beak she deftly does seek Spider's silk and the finest grassy threads. Then this tiny tailorbird sews up fresh green leaves so fine they resemble the finest ladies silk sleeves. And she fills this nest with soft vegetable down and inside lays her small clutch of eggs close to the ground, with people walking all around. She has no fear, for she keeps her eggs near and with her long sweet tail, she does her best to balance her spindly legs near the edge of the nest while she turns those precious eggs to keep them safe and warm. And oh, if only we humans would watch and learn! What a fine warm nest we might make of Mother Earth. Thank you Rudyard Kipling, for 'Darzee' in "The Jungle Book", and Maryjo Koch in "Bird, Egg, Feather, Nest" for inspiration and technical understanding, and to God, for understanding my heart. |

This is charming, and so glad to see someone else who will do some reading/learning/watching for inspired writing. |

Professor Gloom, Sunshine, Marge: Thanks for reading. I'm glad you enjoyed the tiny tailorbird's nesting story. Our feathered friends are 'uplifting' reminders of the beauty and simple joys that surround us. |

Great write! Just kind of curious which direction the rhyme scheme was going, lol, I got confused. |

You spun quite a tale yourself, and a lesson was woven in your words that I shall hear! Well done. ~I always have time to listen to someone talking from their heart~ |

Masked man: Sorry to confuse. Actually, there is no scheme, some lines fell in place, others did not...kind of the way life itself flows. Enchantress: Thanks, glad you enjoyed. Birds are fascinating. Mysteria: Thanks, it pretty much wove itself this time. Glad you enjoyed it. Balladeer: Glad you liked. Yes, we can learn much. Just stay away from those ant trax.... |
