I saw you today. We spoke… Touched hands. In your eyes, Were things I had forgotten. I liked my memories As they were. Now… I leave, Remembering more. |

I don't think I could respond equally as well or any better than Lady in White. |

I really like the "pivot" of the stanza: In your eyes, Were things I had forgotten. This can be interpreted either towards the positive of the good memories, or the negative of ones you'd rather have forgotten but are now caused to remember more... I guess it depends, as always, on the frame-of-mind of the reader and their conscious choice of dwelling... Very powerful, Ron. -MVS "If you think you know it all, you have a lot to learn." |

Thank you sir... always look forward to your comments.. find them insightful...and as a "would be poet" find it satisfying when some device or turn of phrase is recognized for what it was intended.. Greatly appreciated!! |

CPatHair~ Quite subtle~ 'I liked my memories As they were.' I really enjoyed the multi-faceted memory concept. Nice. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

I understand the comfort in memory and the discomfort in having them stirred unexpectedly. Well done as always! |

And, in leaving, did you like the new memories as well as the old? |

What I got out of this was a buried pain resurfacing in a moment after a strong effort to bury it. It's a truth, I think. And as such, is powerful. Thanks |

sometimes, things are better left as they were. . . I could relate to this poem. . . it's just a memory. . . ![]() ----------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

I can relate to it too, it packs a punch in a short verse, and makes a great statement! "It's easier to kill love than to nurture it" Fred Hardesty |
