The Blanket Take now this thread of fine wool from across the sea and land of Ire, then take a strand from cotton’s boll spun well with strength’s desire. Add to it touch of silk so fine spun well from nature’s own weave then take all ancestors memories of mind thread a story of passion, believe that this blanket of woven threads from all across those great lands could hold stories of reverence, led by open hearts, and open hands. Keep the thread's weave of silk and wool make sure fine cotton is there so during dark, when nights turn cool you may wrap up in memories’ care. Do please add poetry’s wine to the stories that wrap your arms; 'tis the lover’s song so fine thus clasp you with melody’s charms. Take not this blanket to store away from daylight nor lonely night’s gloom but keep it out for all to see; why, weave one for every room. For rooms are many, I’ve many more blankets like this are at their core; I’ll wrap you thus, and many others in stories of your sisters, brothers. I love you, my child. Signed, God. |

Sunshine - I was most touched by this writing. I can only imagine the tales that a thread would tell, if only... BC |

Karilea~ 'Keep the thread's weave of silk and wool make sure fine cotton is there so during dark, when nights turn cool you may wrap up in memories’ care.' Lovely ! And He gives us memory blankets to keep us comforted. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

That blanket wasn't the only well woven work around. Your assignment of meanings and use of them was expert. Thanks for sharing this with me. |

I love the way you worked this through with the metaphor, Sunshine, it touched me. "It's easier to kill love than to nurture it" Fred Hardesty |
