Sunday in the Park Virginia Salter Big band band stand ain’t it grand! nice journey VAS... not sure about the black was black line... as in some sense it could be taken to speak to racial issues prevelant during the times you mention... not saying it would be... just could... |

no, Cpat, it was alluding to black was black, white was white, not all this gray...thus the line gray was clouds and pin-striped suits, I had deemed I could leave out the white part of the cliché and make it less cliché ah, me...we'll see |
