I think perhaps 'twas Robin Hood who made me seek so fruitlessly for men to equal deeds of brave and give to all relentlessly. I see myself Maid Marion with gown of gold and sword of steel She grew in love and bravery followed her heart, took on the feel. Yes, Robins' sword could do the trick at bay keep all of prince John's men whilst maid so dearly loved by him fought side by side, much more than friend. And later in the fires' light Sir Robin knew just what to do He unlaced slow her corselet and showed her lifetimes love anew. Surely today there is a man who thinks and acts with heart of gold or is it only in the past that men knew how to love so bold? |

(smiling) Well I tried to be like Robin once, but that corset stuff...now unlacing one of those is just not something that is easy to do when you got fumbling hands.and are all caught up in the moment... I liked the poem! Nice writing... |

Sandra... it does seem disillusioning, as I have written before -- and it holds equally true regarding the women out there, I'll have you know... Seems like now-a-days, it's more like "Robin' the Hood"! As long as we contribute to the opposite of that, then perhaps there is still hope... -MVS "When you tell the Truth, you never have to remember what you just said." |

this was such a fun read...but how could poor Robin survive in today's world or Sir What's-his-name, that placed his jacket o'er a puddle that madame must navigate chivalry is chicanery what is chicanery anyway? is that the way you spell it? I mean is that the way one 'should' spell chicanery? maybe it should be: chivalry is chickenry ;o} <--- that's in olden terms heh heh heh heh heh heh just looked up chicanery...deception, trickery, heh heh heh so I'm just going to leave all of this here for it is so apropos! well, you know Sandra. . . as one who tries hard to uphold the banner for men of chivalry, I'll tell you that there are still some of us around. . . (and a lot of them are here!!!) great job with this one. . . and I'm sure that Robin would probably run his own retreats for men. . . ------------------------------------------------------------ To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |
