Sylvester doesn't thrill me any more.
I used to watch his action movies...
Scream and yell for more
But they don't give the entertainment
That they did before....
Sylvester doesn't thrill me any more.

Hey, Arnold, I'm afraid this is goodbye.
I've watched you kill so many people,
Laugh and watch them die
But I can't bear to watch them now
No matter how I try
So, Arnold, I'm afraid this is goodbye.

I've watched big buildings blow up
And then the good guys show up
And somehow always seem to save the day
But now the scenes are real..
This sadness that I feel
Won't let me view them in the same old way.

Now AMC is what I most enjoy..
The simple shows from simple days
That Time cannot destroy.
Just song and dance and sweet romance
And days of  'girl meets boy'
Goodbye, old friends...I'm watching Dale and Roy.

In light of echoed opinion
cleverly penned by Balladeer
I too eschew those movie minions
of striking limb and callous leer

Oh, and Duncan...
I applaud your powers of resistance.(The Brady Bunch, gads!   )

Yep! The discovery channel and nick seem very appealing these days. I even watched "Home Alone" again for 1500th time. Just to laugh. Understand you dearly!

Regina

This brings to light an excellent point Michael. I have often wondered just how many things I have personally become inured to just through the repetitive viewing of violent imagery. Well said.

Michael, I'm finding myself siding with my son these days in watching Scooby Doo.  Thank you for these thoughts.

Yes, the imaginary became reality and that's no fun at all.

Thanks Deer,

I can readily understand your feelings here. I never did go to any of the "Terminator" type movies and rarely watch TV, except for the occasional nature special. Violence has always worried me even when it was faked.

Movie channels I do enjoy
Not much as old as Roy
Although I must agree
Sylvester and Arnold are History!

With my pen I shall create,
With my mind I shall explore,
With my strength I shall endure,
With my poetry I shall have legacy.

This is very good. I don't blame you. I don't like the violent shows, either.
