(Sun will rain) I planted you lilies, in this graveyard In the paralyzed part of my mind The epitaph was useless But it was all that I could find Born blinking, readjusting Survived on the power to master words Contemplating the unthinkable Man's ease with which to hurt Manipulated & helpless, Free fall angels descending from grace No flowers, only dust & sirens Rubble as a final resting place But I place you in a garden Forever in whatever's left of this American dream While the savaged pieces of peace Freedom & love, lay dying underneath Our faces as creased crevices Tv pictures that refuse to stop Ashamed that useless condolences Are for you, all I've got But man adapts, buys oil & gold & all you need to start a war They will say it was in your memory They will forget what you died for This requiem deserves no words or title Just emotion, of numbed disbelief Our only hope, that the sun will rain Love & you will be free While the future collapses around & all the present is, is uncertainty I plant these lilies in your graveyard In the soul-stunned part of me Dedicated to all those who died in the New York, Pittsburgh crashes, their families & everyone affected by these tragedies. god bless america. |

Thank you for writing this wonderful piece - and your countrymen, for caring enough to play "The Star-spangled Banner" at Buckingham Palace... ![]() |

Your words of kindness and sympathy do not go un-noticed, in appreciation from far away. Take care. |
