(I wrote a poem earlier on this subject that misled some of you. I was writing from the perspective of a mother who had lost a child in this disaster, not as myself. Please forgive this mis-understanding.) We are lighting candles, saying prayers And longing to do more To help our beleaguered country, Now on the brink of war. We'll turn our purses inside out, We'll labor night and day, Anything we're asked to do, Not too big a price to pay. We've chosen leaders carefully, Who must prove they can truly lead. We pray they have the stamina To avenge this barbarous deed. We are not a war-like people. We would live in loving peace, But we can't give in to this terror Or are way of life will cease. Help our leaders track the villains, And bring to justice swift and sure. We pray to find retaliation, Without a full-blown war. By Joyce 9/15/01 |

"We are lighting candles, saying prayers And longing to do more To help our beleaguered country, Now on the brink of war" Yes we certainly are..I wish there was more we could do but for now we can continue to pray and hope for justice. Thanx for sharing! ((hugs to you)) |

Joyce (glad you explained by the way) it was an excellent poem, as is this one. We are praying, waving American Flags, and have a candle vigil in Canada for you folks, and wish you all some "real closure" on this terrible action. Lovely poem Joyce. ~*Be Kind To Your Fellow Man, Lend Him A Helping Hand, Put A Little Love In Your Heart*~ |

Joyce: Very well done. I think everyone is doing whatever they can to help and will do whatever is asked of them in the future. Betty Lou Hebert |
