I am sorry this is a little long..it my first write since the New York disaster. It is part of my grieving although I do not personally know anyone who died or was injured. I am grieving for those who do. Years ago I heard an optimistic and naive young woman say "After we all become educated we will never have another war." I thought to myself, how little she knows Yet I kept my opinion to myself Some things are not worth arguing about Life has a way of teaching us The things that are true My generation watched war daily On television screens Joined the cause Willingly and unwillingly Lost relatives and friends Held peace rally's Demonstrated, Outraged We became Adamant We were Flighting A war That Never Could Be won And Weariness Divided us Then as Gracefully As the circumstances Would allow Flighting ceased Yet there were no bells Ringing for victory Just quiet satisfaction That the doves and the hawks Were finally resting their wings Now tonight as I sit here at my computer In the year 2001 Believing still that education is not the answer A rich educated religious man Reigned terror Upon the world In spite of his education, his wealth and his religion When I look at his photo I'm angry for what he has done Yet at the same time All that I know of him Proves The one thing that he lacked Was love Too bad he didn't possess it For if he had He would have known The evil schemes that he laid Were not in the name of God God the creator Of all human kind Can be defined In one simple word Called Love A divine concept Maybe too hard For The nameless terrorist To understand As he was bent on Taking destruction Into his hands Little did he know That as he accomplished That which he intended to do That terror would Come back to reign on him too Nameless coward that you are The world already regrets The day that you were born So take your education, your money And whatever else is important to you And perhaps your good looks Buy you a rocket ship That will send you to Mars Perhaps when it lands You'll see all those stars Or better yet you'll Wake up in Hell With Satan and all the rest of the angels Who thought They could be Holier than God And on second thought I know Satan's probably Been waiting there A long time for you To stoke the fires Of the Holy War You announced Would soon Be coming Son of Satan Your father is waiting Go quickly! |

I wonder what Bin Laden's mother in Saudi Arabia thinks about her son. Does her face beam proudly in a broad smile? Does she hide her face in shame and weep for the mothers who have forever lost their sons.I wonder. paladin |

I wonder too, it would been better than to have never had a son than to have one like him. |

At times like this, I desperately pray there is an afterlife for people like this to answer to... This is very good writing, songbird, and excellent sentiment... |

I totally enjoyed reading your poem. I wonder how bin Laden feels now that the US is taking action and not letting him get the best of us? |

Wow, I like your words, well done, and I feel the same. I am from the vietnam times also, and this is leading who knows where, but it's going to be ugly. Take care. Sandra |

well done. . . a great commentary on the fact that education alone is not enough. . . that there must be emotions as well. . . excellent. . . ------------------------------------------------------------ To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

His money bought him a first class ticket to the Unholiest Black Pit of rejection ever known to man. In this case, I hope he can take it with him. And you are right. Some people become so educated they read like a bad novel. Because they forgot where to lend a reader their heart. God Bless you and all. Sincerely, Regina |
