Beneath our willow tree, Enveloped in my arms, You share your dreams with me; I'm lost within your charms... With eager concentration, I hear all that you say... A surge of jubilation My smile gives away... Upon your neck, I rest my cheek And lose myself in you... I take to heart all that you speak -- I know your words are true... And as my fingers spiral round The waves of your dark hair, Your lucious lips exude a sound Of ecstasy we share... The pure content and joy we feel Through our tight embrace... Elation never felt so real As when we're face to face... A fragrant Zephyr treats us to A most delightful scent... And even better than we knew -- This day together spent. The sleepy swaying of its limbs; The comfort of its shade... Beneath our willow tree, our whims And promises are made... I stare into your topaz eyes, In awe of all I see: Your Love and Trust I realize... Your Faith and Honesty... And For A Brief Infinity, Words fail to define Our synchronous epiphany: I'm yours, and you are mine. (Copyright 2001 by: MARK V SHELDON) "If you think you know it all, you have a lot to learn." What a delightful impression of a love that lasts forever it seems! I love this work... Cindi God is our inspiration; Words of the heart can be music to our ears |

Thanks, Cindi... "For A Brief Infinity" would be a better replacement to the word "forever"... Glad you enjoyed. -MVS "If you think you know it all, you have a lot to learn." |

Mark, it seems you have a serious romantic side here. This particualr stanza most affected me, both the use of words, and the meaning "And For A Brief Infinity, Words fail to define Our synchronous epiphany: I'm yours, and you are mine." |

For better or for worse, when one's core is of a true "romantic", one's sensitivity is exposed to the universe, at times like a beacon, with the hopes that Honesty and Understanding will be two virtues with which others will approach him/her. The deeper the sensitivity -- the deeper the potential for inspiration as well as hurt. As long as the motives remain pure, both ways, I'd never give up this core. Thanks for your comments, Sandra. -MVS "If you think you know it all, you have a lot to learn." |

I love willows....and I love this poem. You have touched on something very special with this one. It's lovely ~Krista "Poetry and Hums aren't things which you get, they're things which get you. |

Thank you, Bill... my style is directly proportional to my mood. Thanks for your reply, and I'm glad you enjoyed. Suetang, thank you for your kind words... inspiration can do wonders. I'm happy you found this enjoyable. That's probably one of my favorite stanzas too, Virginia. Thanks for the read and reply. Krista: thank you very kindly. The tree seemed to be the perfect setting for the mood I described here... thanks for the read and for your comments. Thank you, Ron. I like that passage too... it contains the title to a future book of mine: "For A Brief Infinity". Thanks, as always, for your reads and replies. -MVS "If you think you know it all, you have a lot to learn." |
