High in the Appalachians he sits beside a stream this man of war and conflict has found his perfect dream. In solitude he feels the soul of the ancient juniper trees. Reaching out he touches one and slowly his anger leaves. He comes here to replenish his weary heart and soul. Here in God’s wooded temple he can finally feel whole. Silence sings a sweet melody and gives him quiet repose sleeping dreams come to him in his peaceful forest doze. Fading to the back of his mind are all the things he despises; he puts away his ‘have to face’ puts away his worldly disguises. He wakes refreshed and stands arms reaching up toward the sky and smiling, he realizes that, now, his soul can fly! |

PoetdeVine~ 'He comes here to replenish his weary heart and soul. Here in God’s wooded temple he can finally feel whole. Silence sings a sweet melody and gives him quiet repose sleeping dreams come to him in his peaceful forest doze.' A poignant write of surrounding the soul in serenity~ Very nicely portrayed~ ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

Theme is one of a deep spiritual kind. "He comes here to replenish his weary heart and soul. Here in God’s wooded temple he can finally feel whole." I like the idea behind this and the ending puts a ribbon on it for sure. "He wakes refreshed and stands arms reaching up toward the sky and smiling, he realizes that, now, his soul can fly!" Very interesting and well written composition! |

We all need a place to replenish. at times we can find that place in a poem. This poem easily brings tranquility to the mind. Well done. Death comes not when we cease to breath, but when we cease to dream. |

I want to go to this place right now !! Thankyou for an enjoyable read. Life is not measured by breaths you take, but by moments that take your breath away. |

This always makes me feel better. It describes the way I feel when I go up to the lake...I can feel the tension melting away. We all have our happy places that have this effect on us and I can't think of a better way to show it! |
