Hard Time It seems I'm being punished for not knowing the right road to take And, an unknown choice led me to a never ending cry For the tears fall as hard as the decision I was forced to make You wouldn't believe the prison I've built here deep inside... For some days I just don't have the will to pull this heart out of bed Sometimes I pray for the night so I can finally rest I'm in a hurry to throw today away in hopes of a new tomorrow And, dying a little each day seems to be what I do best... I am doing hard time without you here with me Doesn't look like much hope to set this lonely heart free I'm inside myself and trapped in this mind of mine Not really living in life and doing such hard time... You wouldn't believe how freedom teases my saddened heart I just stand there wishing for a quick way out I stand behind doubt, hopelessness and walls of fear I sure learned it all and just what sacred is all about... Oh, it's so dark and cold when you are away I lose a part of me each time that you leave I know life isn't fair that both our hands can't touch But, I am doing the time for both you and me... I'll be doing life if something just does not change I don't know how much longer I can live beneath all this rain I'm trying to hold on to everything I ever considered mine And, begging strength to touch me while I'm doing time...
