Near ocean’s roar, oh, there to dwell Beside fair shore’s urbanity No longer ground beneath the sound Of big-town inhumanity. Escape the madness that surrounds life, sapping fragile sanity Awaiting seas, calm ocean breeze, Annihilate inanity. Soar free with gulls that sail above Aquatic surging rhapsody Drown mournful dirge, sore sorrow’s scourge Immersed by nature’s melody. Beside the tide is spirit’s quell Near ocean’s roar, oh, there to dwell. 9/7/01 [This message has been edited by Denise (edited 09-08-2001).] |

Denise, my friend~ Look at you wading in the water~ This is a lovely, lovely piece, dear lady~ 'Near ocean’s roar, oh, there to dwell.' Seems your thoughts are adrift~ Love n' hugs n' other fancy stuff~ LOVE YOU~ ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

Thanks, Corinne, Karilea, Martie, Kris, Marge and Munda for reading and for your lovely replies! I'm so glad that you enjoyed it! I have decided to head for the shore today. It's only a two hour drive and with the summer rush over, it should be divine! Also, one of my talented nephews, Brian, is in his first art show today in Wildwood, NJ, so I will get to see him down there today as well! I'll see you tonight if I don't get home too late! Love ya Denise |

I've five ponds in the yard ... I don't get the ocean's roar and I don't get rid of big-town inhumanity, but I do get the gulls and I'd like to soar up there with a baseball bat ... they keep eating my baby fish |

Here's one that I can say I wish I wrote - This is great, Denise... and don't be stressed over Rex's baby fish.. Those little guys are pretty prolific.. |

Thanks for reading, Rex and Nan, and for your input! It's always appreciated! Wow! I wrote a poem that you wish you wrote, Nan? I take that as the highest of compliments! Poor little baby fishies....must be tough being at the bottom of the food chain. |
