Summer’s soft greens Ignited into flames Of yellow and red Burn on slender limbs Above a landscape Slowly fading from Gold to brown. Breezes that had sweat From running north For the summer now Turn south bringing With them souvenirs Of this arctic trip Days once filled With endless sunlight Now retreat as Winter’s Darkness stalks their Dying fire. We watch again The autumn changes As they fly like Silent owl through Our lives knowing time passes seasons change and so do we |

Change can bring many things - oftentimes we need to realize that without it, we wouldn't survive... A keeper... |

Still like summer here...No sign of fall at all...But the sun much longer sleeps...I will enjoy the changing leaves ~Connie~ |

Like serenity says..."where, o, where..." the Houston area is the pits to when it come to fall changes. Been in White Plains, N.Y. though, during the "change" and it was wonderful indeed. jwesley |

Wow ! I usually skip past descriptive pieces, not out of contempt, but out of my lack of knowledge of the style. I just don't know what's good and what is not. But it certainly doesn't take an expert in this style to know that THIS is wonderful. I especially liked the stanza below: "Days once filled With endless sunlight Now retreat as Winter’s Darkness stalks their Dying fire." No one ever listened themselves into trouble. |

It takes so long for my favorite time of the year to flow south and it's so diluted by the time it gets to south Texas that it's impact is minimal. Someday I want to meet it head on in yankee land where I can relish colors only God can paint. Enjoyed |

A beautiful homage to my favorite season, Ron. Your last line remains faithful to your impactful style. -MVS "It's all in the details -- the Big Picture always takes care of itself." |

one of my favorites of yours, now, Cpat, enjoyed the images painted, the feelings woven as threads through this lovely piece and the ending...superb! |
