Don't Go Breakin' My Heart Those were the days when I believed she cared for me. I thought she was so hot. My heart was filled with tender romantic thoughts. Then one day she took it all away and I didn't feel romantic anymore. New feelings rushed in to fill the void. I felt fragmented like my heart had been destroyed. But you never have much choice in these matters. They never say "I have to go now. Is that all right with you?" They never say "I'll stay if you want me too." No...they just go. So true, they don't ask permission to leave, but if my first love had, I'd still be with him. And I wouldn't have had a chance to meet the man that I really love... Great poem! |
