The Shores of Alone

Still he is missed, though tis said, let go
neither he or I forget, I know.
Circumstances, time and mistakes made
combined to steal days of love away.

At night I remember times with him
those moments of most delicious sin.
On awakening, he's also there
because in my heart, I'll always care.

Our future is very vague at best
though hearts of love may yet stand the test.
Truly it is better to have known
to have kissed him in those times of glow.

The jagged hole in my heart will mend
but my love for him will never end.

Such is our human fate and experience...  still worth it, though, in my opinion...

Great ending....

I agree, great ending. But hopefully it won't be an ending. Beautifully worded, beautifully written Sandra. You know I feel those emotions there

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Sandra,
So sad, and oh how I can relate. Hearts do mend, but they never forget....

This is written so well Sandra. I only wish there were no salty wounds. If only, I know. You still have so much to offer. Wounded or not.

Sincerely,
Regina

Very nicely done... and the pain..the endless days and nights of wanting...are the price it seems we pay for the depths of feeling and caring, yet...I agree with Mark..it is well worth it in the end... I would rather have tried and failed..tried and felt...than not tried at all...or not felt at all..
