Sometimes I wonder if it's better to try to be lovers or friends
I guess for every individual the situation depends
But when love's done you wrong for so very long, your heart gets barricaded
And you see that all the precautions you took were underestimated
Still, no matter what you do, your heart always finds a way out
And no matter what your new approach is, you end up on the old route
This is why I feel safer most times with a friend
Cause it takes more to bring a friendship to an end
It's a harder train to derail and a tougher plane to crash
To me, friendships are the only relationships meant to last
Yet, this leaves only one part of my heart complete
So I have a small hope that one day I'll meet
Someone I can truly trust with my heart
Who feels for me what I do for them, pure from the start
Until this day comes, for love I always will try
And I'll have friends in my life to keep my hope alive
