Between a laugh and a tear...

Fallen Star

My greatest gift
Has now been lost
Left to wonder
at what cost

That tiny star
'twas a guiding light
Brought peace and hope
of the Eagles flight

From this troubled soul
a part now gone
Gone just one day
been far too long

Without that touch
can only contemplate
Is this my price
for tempting fate?

Poignant read here this morning. Contemplative, beautifully done.

very sad Eagle ... not sure what the loss is...but you words evoke the absence your feeling.

sometimes a day..seems like a lifetime..eh?  your price..hmm..having loved is a good thing...your lonliness, yes, sadly this is sometimes the price you pay for taking a risk... but i think its worth it...

great write EAGLE..

wishing your lonliness to fade quickly..

EagleOne, are you sure the love is gone or just hiding?  But to have had and misplaced gives you something to look for.  Sad but another great piece of work.  ME

Yes, 'gone just one day' can seem like an eternity when you are in love. Touching.

Life is not measured by breaths you take, but by moments that take your breath away.

there's no such thing as
tempts of fate,
soft suffered
winsome,
mused
by bait

no crystal
candle
e'er can dim

no fate can tempt
a thought

as pure as
driven snow,
there is no whim
which proves
love
naught

thank you for sharing your work.... i hope my spontaneous response is accepted as my appreciation of what you wrote.....

a fine write here, eagle

Although the star has fallen
the light still shines bright,
and may the eagle again soar
into a new days light.....

Poignant and moving piece Eagle.  Wonderful writing.  *s*
