Red wine passes by my soft lips
a crystal glass sits by my side
soft swirls of cigarette smoke waft upwards
nicotine dulls my mind

A numbness penetrates my body
alcohol liberates my mind
no feelings of love adorn me
Emotionally I am blind

No worries in my land of drugs
no hassles to wear me down
just sleep, blur, and smiles
a furrow caused by my frown

Life has never felt better
yes I care, but keep it inside
for once I gave my heart
and once I was taken for a ride

No pity to stir my feelings
no emotion with tints of gold
A man, I am indeed
a woman I'd die to hold.....

I really like this,
I know that must sound morbid.
But this was written very very well!
The emotions are expressed really well,
and I can't help but like it sad or not!!

Hey Hollowman welcome to Passions......

I see you've picked up on the advantages of hiding behind substance abuse...Well, it's a great way to write about the despair of your feelings and you did that very well here!

I hope you find that woman to love and to hold
Have a nice day   ethome

Hollowman,

There may be yet another, Sir
so do be careful of the blur.
You may miss her invitation
lost in your inebriation.
