I do not own the shadows, I am theirs. The night was coming this way, Just remnants, Occasional beams of day, Shadows on broken concrete, Money not sent, Abandonment of the street. Still visitors will come by, From below, And a few from slightly high, All them in shadows I see, And I know, And they will not look at me, Comfortable in watching. The remnants. Watching in shadows waiting, Swirling events rush forward, Forged steel brazenly flashing, Screams of wailing terror heard, Silence in shot’s resounding, Fall, stoop, and grab away, Comfortable in watching. Just the events of the day, Once again. Just the events of the day, Now is the assaults retreat, Which happens to be my way, Comes on the pounding of feet, Escaping into shadows, Now terror of siren’s scream, With smoking gun in hand goes, More the nightmare of his dreams, Quickly he forces a choice, And shadows slightly flutter, Reaching out touching he voice, Kicking the gun to gutter, Pulsating lights arriving, And parts of shadows recede The victim’s still surviving, Scattered are the facts they need. Comfortable in watching, The remnants. I do not own the shadows, I am theirs. Gloom |
