Soft waking dreams caress with memories
Wash over as a constant gentle wave
The present filling it with certainties:
Love never turns to dust despite the grave;
A treasured moment lasts forevermore
Kept safe within the heart it thrives and breathes
Enveloping with misted times of yore
Consoling with each touch a heart that grieves.
Of far more value than a precious gem
More lasting than the wealth of millionaires
Those love filled moments that we leave to them
Will be a balm to heal their sorest cares.

Tomorrow is not promised anyone
Create those moments now before life’s done.

Wonderful writing, Denise...I will echo some others tonight by saying that it is, indeed, a treat to read a poem from you!  Beautiful flow and message!

tried to write a letter
to tell you how I feel,
but all I kept on writing
was slipping on the tears from the day...

Thank you, Elizabeth, RS and Kris. So glad you enjoyed. Thanks so much for your kind words!

Again, Kris, your sonnet is amazing! /pip/Forum50/HTML/002844.html
Addicting, aren't they?!

Elizabeth, congratulations on the birth of your first granddaughter, Evelyn Elizabeth! (I think she'll give the grandsons a run for their money one of these days!) I'm sure you are currently working on a poem for her, if in fact it's not already finished! Can't wait to see it!

If only I could pen sonnets like you~
