moving through the morning gray, there they sat as though on display mother and daughter, perfect copies of the same genetic mold, a work of art that could not be made by human hands, symmetrical of line and unique in form breathing as though of the same body, head laid against heart, arms surround as dreams were shared behind shaded eyes, tuft of ashen hair falls softly as if to shield those dreams from a world that has forgotten the dreams of its children as the grayness became white, we continued on towards the day, and then, as if knowing, the smaller statue awoke, rubbed the sleep from its eyes, and smiled. . . ------------------------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |
