Renaissance

A cheering crowd
caught within the confines of eyes reach.
Velvet waves of thought
pressing their feel, rising to meet,
title me stolen in the arms of touch.
Beyond the fairy tale,
slipping into the night, one by one
my dreams are deferred.
I mind float the moment,
thought-pauses stretching time,
releasing today into tomorrow, at a snail's pace.
I whisper my good-bye's into the night air
allowing time to shadow me,
'til next we meet.

~Wynter

Cape of black,
Pulled tightly despite the sun,
Double tied
So it won’t come undone,
Watching the realms of velvet,
Listening to the clanging of metal,
And the clinking of a glass,
Talking quiet to those now met,
Beside the stones of ancient castle,
Resting with wine on the grass.
Drift me fore and back,
Renaissance of times gone past,
Where simpler things reside.

This was so very beautiful.  I felt myself being swept away in the romance of this.
Take care......Sue
