Fighting the sleep, that falls heavily, Loosing the light of day, sleep must come, It's on it's way, Casually we meet up everyday, Always the same scenario, Never wanting to go, but that's the ritual, I always complain, he doesn't care, He says I need sleep, I'm dozing even as we speak, My eyes begin to have that far off glare, Looking at this sleep as something rare, Why must sleep take me over, Take my best hours, dream them away, Then when daylight comes it's always work, So can't I make a compromise, With this dream weaver, that takes ahold, maybe six hours, maybe four, But somehow he just takes hold and says lets go, so goodnight. |

Ahh...I know the feeling. I hate to sleep because I feel like I'm wasting my time! But then again, I do so love those days when you can just sleep in and lounge in bed for awhile! But now you've got my thoughts on bed and sleep is looking awfully inviting at the moment! Enjoyed the read... Hugs, ~Krista "Poetry and Hums aren't things which you get, they're things which get you. |

Yep, I didn't want to go to sleep before 9 but it happened anyway...and now, I'm wide awake...well I think I am, anyway. Enjoyed the poem, it sounds awfully familiar. |

There is something special about the last hour before sleep. I try to stretch it too. Enjoyed this. |

sometimes. . . sleep must come. . . and then, when it does. . . we must listen. . . wonderfully done. . . -------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

Well, you certainly penned that feeling well. This was marvelous from beginning to end and I am so glad to run into one of yours. Well written and the flow couldn't be better. |
