At the request of Catlinamoon, this piece is cross posted to the Open Poetry forum. Thank you Sandra, for the request. I feel honored. MoonShadow.

"Standing in the Shadow"

I know I feel comfort in your presence.
At the same time, I am in awe and humbled by your extroverted spirit.
Standing in the warm anonymity of your shadow
I am touched by your radiating glow.

I can feel the glow and make the feeling last.
If you take it kind of slow and don't walk fast.
I don't mean to hold you back from the meadow.
I'll be quiet in your track.. in your shadow.

If I can't keep up with you, don't drag me by the hand.
If you cannot wait for me, I will understand.
Adventure.. fame.. both heaven sent, paths I can not follow.
Accepting this, I'll be content, standing in the shadow.
