Come sit ye down lass an' we'll talk o' the sea a lady not nearly as kindly as ye . She'll take all y'give 'er an' warsh ye ashore with nary a thank ye she reaches fer more , than ye can imagine , clear in t' yer 'eart . She'll take ye on journeys y'wish ye didn't start . N'man be her master nor claim foolishly to know all 'er secrets , 'tis 'ard she can be . But , beautiful too , aye , she'll steal yer soul and make ye forsake the dry land that's 'er goal , 'er sirens' wail calls an' we answers y'see it's simple as that , fer we mariners be . We've rocked in 'er cradle and wept 'er salt tears . She's granted us life o'er these millions of years . We'd not trade one bit o' 'er riches n'more to live out our days bein' stuck 'ere on shore . So sit ye down lass an' we'll talk o' the sea me ship leaves t'morrow , Lord willin' wit' me . |
