Today the sun came shining and life reclaimed my heart So down among the garden wild, some weeding I did start Down upon my knees I knelt and much I did remove And as I looked on where I’d been, my eyes they did approve Quite quickly I grew weary as the hours passed on by Load by load of weeds I’d tossed, and left em all to die I’d made a mess upon the path and things in disarray But after lunch and close to tea, I bid the job g’day The winter day had been like spring, and charmed the heart with joy And as a magnet to the sun, outdoors became my toy I’d sunbathed in the beauty of a day that came to please And felt content with natures way, when down upon my knees I happily had spent a day, which soothed and touched my soul Was grateful for the blessing shared and time which made me whole I retired feeling tired, but glad for all I’d done I’d shared the day with natures joy and so enjoyed the sun (This was my day today, it was much enjoyed and fulfilling.) |

Quite spiritual in content, being on one's knees, tending His garden, giving back delight in all that you have received...a great pleasure to read...so soon you shall come back with more, yes? |

Dear Sunshine, getting into the spirit again and full of life, you will hear from me more and more as time goes by, thanks for the reply, I always look so forward to them all. It was a great day in the garden and being on ones knees sometimes helps. Thanks for the reply, stay well. Rick |

Well, it's been blistering here, but last night we had a rain storm and guess what? It was the perfect time for me to go out and weed my garden too! The soil has loosened some so it made the task much easier. Cool how today was a great day to weed even on the other side of the equator. Dirt is a very spiritual thing. ![]() Sincerely, Regina |

Dear Regina, nice to hear from you again, by one of your last poems I could tell how hot your season there must be, the rain storm must have been much enjoyed. We could use a good rain storm here ourselves to put some water in the catchments and the water tanks. The spirit of the soil is a soother indeed. Thanks for the reply. Marge, thanks for your great complement, to have ones verse read aloud would have to be the highlight of ones expression. Thanks also to your reply. Rick Hope you both stay well. |

I'm not really a nature lover although I do enjoy being outside and I enjoyed this very much. |

"I’d sunbathed in the beauty of a day that came to please And felt content with natures way, when down upon my knees" You have such a beautiful way with words and rhythm Rick. The cadence and rhyme in this piece is superb as always, and the uplifting inspiration in the message warms the heart, very much enjoyed! ![]() Best wishes, /Kit |

Today the sun came shining and life reclaimed my heart So down among the garden wild, some weeding I did start Down upon my knees I knelt and much I did remove And as I looked on where I’d been, my eyes they did approve Rick..the first verse was enough for me..I knew what would follow *s as I have so many large flower gardens that weeds wish to take over...I loved this and will save it to make me smile..knowing that some days are worthwhile..weeding's not so bad...making room for new growth to spring.. ~Wynter "The worst prison would be a closed heart". |

Wynter, thanks for your reply, it was a lovely day and one which I can look back on by wandering now the garden with less weeds. Some days fill you with life, to somehow worship the land on which we all live, to be one with nature is such a wonderful feeling and fulfilling. I truly hope you now smile often and enjoy your many flower gardens. Happy weeding and again thank you. Rick |
