Beware the masterful ways of the Dark Rider The Knight of vultured Love. His tongue is sweet from the last soul He ate. While professing how good it tasted. Smiling white the smile, wiped Clean. He rides in on the sleeve of your blouse. Making all seem rare and heaved ripe. For picking you, he has a reason. You're red of hope lost, and vulnerable. Purple hearted, from ache of missing love. He knows your ears, secret need of whisper. And loudly he calls you his Mistress. Claiming you for himself, and you shake Off the bristles of reasoning and die Believing in his profane confession. He will lead his horse into victory With your heart impaled upon his staff. Glorifiying himself, the Lady's Man. He does not fall off his steed. He's too practiced a rider of theft. Instead, Look for the one that quiets In certain footfall of falling down. He doesn't have time for horses, but tries. And Looks for nothing and gets excited By the smallest gesture, of dropped silk. He works to be a King, Not a Chess piece. Though he could certainly smite, full A transgressor of his love, kept pure. He walks the Proud walk of Honesty. Standing taller than any horseman saddled. He Knocks the Dark Rider into blankness. A man of Honor, he asks for no rewards. The only thing befitting his valor, Truth. The truth of your heart, devoted forever. Leaving the White to the backs of wild horses. Letting his Crown fall down tightly, around you both. [This message has been edited by rwood (edited 08-11-2001).] |

Regina, This is a true work of art. And it sounds like you have met the same "Kings" as I have! Elise |

Hi there, yes this is the same guy, definitely! This reminds me of my poem on the same theme. Great job, you write this emotion and style so nicely. Sandra |

Rex: I wish all could steer clear. It is a hard lesson learned! Thank you for your wonderful comment. Athena: Well, the old saying White Knight on horseback, can be the opposite. In choosing a mate, I found the honest man a King of hearts. Thank You! Catalinamoon: It helps me to know I wasn't the only one. For I did feel foolish a long, long time. But the lesson brought me new eyes that helped me find the real love of my life. I appreciate your very kind replies. Sincerely, Regina |

indeed, sometimes it is not the Prince who makes the best King. . . sometimes, it could be the Jester. . . excellent Regina. . . ------------------------------------------------------------ To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

Sven: Personally I love the jester most. A man that can make a Lady laugh is good for her soul. You are so good to me! Thanks. Irish Rose: You are a winner in my heart! Lone Wolf: Thanks! Especially for the Wow! Maeve: Yes, we all learn the hard way. But I hope the Dark one never makes one give up on love. The King of Hearts could be just around the corner. Sincerely, Regina |
