~* A Poetess Obsessed *~She closes her eyes to find her own peace. As mind’s eye flips through images with agility; Poetic expression is her one true addiction. Her passion lays in her own written ability. Inspired by the cloaking of a warm summer eve, She sits in the garden shadowed in dim light. Working her craft until dawn’s first glimmer, Obsession drives her to write through the night. The mauves of mellow, rich crimsons of rage, Brings to life, fairies, whose words must be told. As she gently opens her favorite journal, The antics of the fae are about to unfold. No! She stops, lays her pen on her lap, Hoping to leave her obsession behind. Try as she might to control her thoughts, Nothing can stop her racing poetic mind. Filled with unborn unwritten passages, She prays to end this unyielding verse. Can it be that composing is her existence, And slumber will not come, this is her curse? Oh how she longs for romantic dreams to write. She welcomes the night with pen in hand. The darkness nourishes her craving soul, As she escapes reality to some far off land. She seeks the solitude of an empty mind, Without elves, goblins, or fairies in flight. She must find an end for her sanity’s sake, If only for once, to have a restful night. It is insanity now flowing from her pen; Sleep has yet to claim her on this night. Her arms are lead, her vision now blurred, As darkness slips once more into light. Sun shines on her journal and a tender fairytale, About elves, gnomes, and dancing sugar plum fae. Obsession is her enemy, but a child’s best friend, These tales will make a child somewhere smile one day! ~ To see real beauty you must look with your heart ~ ~* Mysteria *~ [This message has been edited by Mysteria (edited 08-07-2001).] |

How well this poem understands my mind and heart...so much so, I wish I had taken the time to write it myself, but I haven't, and you have, and for that very reason, it is a keeper.... |

What's sleep to the deep when it's known the end near creeps? What's rest to the blessed when there's stories to divest? "Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to decieve" |

I didn't know obsession could be beautiful - but your pen has made it so - and you've written much truth. |

Well...what was I going to write at that hour of the morning, and actually was thinking about Sunshine and Marge when I wrote this, where do they come up with all that they seem to write about? Glad you all liked this little bit of rambling. Thank you one and all! ~ To see real beauty you must look with your heart ~ |

Janet Marie ~ I hate to admit it but it is an obsession at times that takes hold and won't let go, and when it disappears a part of me is gone. Thank you sweet poetess. My Enchanted Melody ~ I did! Mysteria This was so wonderfully written and I'm sure I'm one of many who can relate so very well to everything you said. I don't go anywhere without a notebook and pencil, I even have them next to my bed at night just in case something comes to mind. Take care....Sue Suetang |

Thank you all for your encouraging comments, and I sometimes wonder if what Marge said to me one day is true, "do we write the words, or do they write us?" Thanks again! Sharon To see real beauty ~ being blindfolded helps! ~* Mysteria *~ |
