The Hallway (inspired by 1slick_lady’s ‘Just One of Those Things’) I recognize it now the hallway where time ago stood so many doors and I, dazed by the choices just anxious to enter any one without true thought to consequence lifted by luck, or by design the precise latch I remember it now door open a view of absolute tranquility and I, dazed by the odds of it broke from reality and spoke without true thought to consequence nullifying by carelessness, not to malign the hallway the door the dream I whisper now that I am sorry and love is finally silent |

Well spoken with wise thought. Perhaps another chance. Throw your heart out in front of you |

shadow974---Thank you for appreciating...it's not really meant to ask for another chance, only forgiveness. Spitfire---Coming from you...I am speechless. Because I think your writing is brilliant. Thank you. jwesley---Thank you for the image of you reading my words aloud. Very cool. Paula---Actually it was 'Three Doors Down'. Thanks for taking the time, Paula. helen---I agree...it should. The inspiration though was this: 'the hallway where you should have turned right but you went left' choices...and this: 'words and actions said in haste or never said or done at all that can never be erased' words spoken without true thought to consequence. It's really just an acknowledgement of responsibility for choices made and an apology for those that resulted in anothers pain. And finally: 'you just can’t get back over that burnt bridge' and it is from this position I now understand that love is best left silent...sometimes. If that is the only way it survives. Thanks for reading, helen and thank you for the inspiration of your poem. |

We often make wrong choices, but we must forgive ourselves even when others don't. Beautiful poem, JLR. |

RJ, love always speaks. . . we just forget to listen sometimes. . . great job. . . ----------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |
