O Sharp Tongue Virginia Salter a hammer builds tears down words, too, are double-edged tools how will my tools toil? build or soil, heal or maim? O sharp tongue- shall you be a keen edge of bane or gain might you carve a masterpiece or nullify a dream seize or cease the day I must look to my heart align it with all that is good all that is pure all that is worthy of good report then only then shall my tongue, sharp or dull, keen and kind be may my words be a hammer that spans a chasm strengthens a foundation buoys my world blesses thee © August 1, 2001 |

It's true, the tounge is sharper than a two edged sword. Words can cut like a knife, or spread love and peace like honey. Good poem Virginia, keep them coming, I really enjoy reading your poetry. Hugs, Deb |
