Those eyes, those eyes
Oh how I do despise
This final straw
The inexorable draw
To where my reflection lies

Once again, trapped within
Somehow stretched too thin
All the more consumed
As one who is exhumed
With each thought maudlin

Burning me, burning me
Through these in which you see
Fair though they are
That, and much more,
Those eyes where I long to be

The pain, the pain
That they enflame
In spellbound duress
For I cannot possess
That which they contain

To hold through the cold
Those eyes burn my soul
I stand and endure it
To confess my secret
As words of love unfold

those words always seem to come up around your poetry...intense and deep...
