She owns me, oh yes I can attest, its not the other way around as one would think that it should be. When she is happy, all of my writings turn up at the corners, when sad, they drip down the page. I have no control over her urges, she forces me to do her bidding. If miss you she does, I write. If miss you she doesn't, then she must explore why. If my heart is breaking somehow she feels the need to publicize. Oh she owns me all right, if I try to ignore her at work with her sometimes untimely visits, well, lets just say she gets her way. At night she keeps me awake, promises of morning will not do, as I search for pen and paper to satisfy nighttime ponderings. And then for days and days- for no apparent reason- she deems to punish me with not a single word at all. I am a prisoner of my muse. I would say she has me confused, but I think the word I am looking for is bemused. |

yes.... they do own you and leave you and return.... it is when you are tired of reading your own words... that they often run and hide..hurt perhaps at your lack of appreciaton for what they have done for you... or done to you... muses are a funny lot... Nicely written... |
