Don't you feel we have potential energy?
Like the memories are just waiting to be made,
Like the first hot day in summer, you feel it's all coming soon,
And you kissing my hair seems more intimate to me now than anything before,
Cause when we are together hope becomes a glimmer, like the far off lights of the city as we drive towards them.
So lets stay here in this room,
Learning who you are,
Learning what I am,
Learning what we could become to each other,
Every instinct I possess tells me this is just the beginning
And you tell me this could be the start of something big

I'm afraid not, I just split with the guy this poem was written about, I was just looking up old poems I had written about him, reminding myself that we did have good times and that he really isn't such a bad guy

well even though the relationship didnt work, the poem sure does... it is so sweet, and how true! when you are in a new relationship, it feels like everything is going to be amazing... i loved it

and i think its sweet you are looking for the good qualities in ex's... ( i like to do that too, i mean, they cant all be that terrible, if we liked them in the first place, right??) :-D
