"A Writer Of The Heart"(Part One)
(If Your Heart's Not In It...So Be It)
© 2002 Brian Eggertsen, All Rights Reserved

Verse 1
Pen and paper ain't enough
Write for money you lose your touch
Some people say it's easy
To write love songs don't take that much
But what do you gain by saying:
"I love you" a million times more
Try to paint a picture like
"The rusty light, hits the naked floor"
Because it....

Chorus 1
Takes more then sand and stone,
More then writing I'm alone.
I'm drowning in sorrow,
And my heart losts it glow.
But if your heart's not it...So be it

Verse 2
The dusty old clock's ticking
All while an ancient radio's,
Scrathing out Waylon Jennings
Country tune "Honky Tonk Heroes".
A cigarette burns itself out,
In a tiny yellow ashtray
Next to a a bottle of whiskey
The snorring man's done for today
You see it...

Chorus 2
Takes more then love you baby,
More then you drive me crazy.
When I look in your eyes,
And angel in desgiuse.
But if your heart's not it...So be it

Bridge
Well I'm done preaching for now.
Just wanted to speak my mind.
I just had to write a song,
Which didn't take so long time.
Cuz' I wanted to let you know,
Just wanted to let you know.
Because it...

Chorus 1

Chorus 2
