"Loving Family" © 2002 Brian Eggertsen, All Rights Reserved Verse 1 Cody grew up in an orphanage And didn't have friends his age So he sat for hours by the window Watching the big ol' Og grow As lonely tears running down his cheeks Young Cody's diary read: Chorus Where's my loving family The arms to hold me tight? The home where I can feel safe Sleep with a smile all night? I have got the picture frame But no picture's in it And each night in the window My mourning candle's lit Where's my living family Verse 2 Eighteen years later Cody's a man He works in a shop, plays in a band But with a hole in his manhood Couldn't ask questions like friends could But then one day while laying on the couch A lonely hearted Cody shouts; Chorus Where's my loving family The arms to hold me tight? The home where I can feel safe Sleep with a smile all night? I have got the picture frame But no picture's in it And each night in the window My mourning candle's lit Where's my living family Verse 3 Cody became a father one day To hi's little girl he would say I'll never leave your side beautiful Love you though you think I'm too old I'll be here to wipe the tears you shed Then he sat his girl down and said: Chorus (Mod) I'll be your loving family The arms to hold you tight The home where you can feel safe Sleep with a smile all night You have the picture frame With a picture in it And each night in the window Loving candle's I'll lit I'll be your loving family Tag I'll give you everything I never had....And more [This message has been edited by Hallucination (08-17-2002 10:20 AM).] |
