Amid the clatter and haste
Of prosaic city life,

I wander the streets
With my veins replenished with

Despondency,
And
Downheartedness...

With my head bowed
Down,
And my mind elsewhere,

I succumb to the
Entrancing music that

Cries

Within my ears.

Step by
Step,

Breath by
Breath,

I slowly slip
Away into a realm of
No return..

With my mind in its
Subsided phase..
And my ears
Maintaining the flow of
Chronic sound,

I stare blindly into
The sky above, and
Implicitly curse the
Creator and His

Unforgiving ways.....

However suddenly,
Like the outburst of a
Crying child,
A frail woman
Strides past me,
And
Entrusts me with a
Forgiving smile..

And suddenly,
Life, the Universe and
Everything in it,

Isn’t so bad...

...Anymore.

Welcome to Passions!

I like the optimism in this...considering I am completely against optimism that's a good thing. Your lines breaks added character to the poem instead of it all being cluttered together like so many people do these days. It's the new black, I tell you now.

I can see you're going to fit in fabulously here. Make sure you read and reply and not just post. I look forward to seeing more pieces from you and lots of interaction.
