"Rainy August Midnight" © 2002 Brian Eggertsen, All Rights Reserved Sitting on the porch in the rusty light, On a fairly hot August midnight. The sky is dazzling blue, lit by the moon, And all the stars are beginning to bloom. Lightning's dancing 'cross the velvet sky, Roaring thunder bursts a distant cry. Out where the hills meet the dusty clouds, Out where the sealing rain's falling so loud.... It's a rainy August midnight In this old town of mine, All though dream land is calling I just can't find the time. And in the morning the rising Sun will put up it's fight, But as it stands right now it's a Rainy August Midnight. Now as the wandering moon travels on, The breeze makes the willow trees sing their song. While fireflies' looking like drunken drivers, Trying to avoid bombs the sky amours... It's a rainy August midnight In this old town of mine, All though dream land is calling I just can't find the time. Tomorrow morning the rising Sun will put a up a fight, Though as it stands right now it's a Rainy August Midnight. |

The imagery was very good and the way in which you worded it.. I'm not exactly sure how to describe it, but it left me with this feeling.. as if I was in the writing itself. Good work. I'm married to Mr.Metaphor. We make love everyday. |
